Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

Okay so I just finished reading a very peculiar book. Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children written by Ransom Riggs is unlike any novel I have ever read. For starters it is written around old fashioned pictures. Ransom Riggs has a Peculiar hobby. Collecting "pictures of people [he doesn't] know."
Using some of these types of pictures he created this story. In this novel Jake grows up hearing about his grandpa's extraordinary adventures."There was a girl who could fly, a boy who had bees living inside him, and a brother and sister who could lift boulders over their heads". His stories were fascinating when Jake was a kid, but as he got older he realized that that was all they were, stories. Or at least so he thought. One day Jake went to visit his Grandfather, only to find that he had been attacked. By what, you may be wondering. Well wolves of course. That is, if you listen to what the police are saying. Following the jumble of instructions his grandpa said in his final breath, he travels in search of the answers. Maybe it's just the fables of a scarred old man who lived threw the worst of WWII, or maybe it really is something extraordinary. In order to find out then you will have to read this peculiar tale for your self! As for recommendations, I absolutely LOVED THIS STORY!! In the link above Ransom Riggs created a trailer for his book. In the link over there ---> he describes A Most Peculiar Trip. This book was a little bit on the creepy side and Amazon suggests it to 13 year old and up. I would say it's about right, give or take a year depending on the reader. Subscribe and comment!

Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror on the wall, what is the best movie of them all? I don't know about the best, but I did  recently see the movie Mirror Mirror. I liked the twists they took on the Snow White fairy tale! How the 7 dwarfs were thieves and how Snow White was not just a singing princess. I thought that the actors they chose for the characters were awsssomeee! It was a pretty funny movie, but also had a cool plot. The only thing I would say is that they rushed the Prince and Snow's relationship. They had a sword fight a dance and that was about it, they were in love. I gotta say, I haven't even seen the other Snow White movie (which by the way hasn't come out yet) but I have a feeling this one is going to be better. I love Kristen Stewart, but I just would not have cast her for SNOW WHITE. I heard this movie is getting bad ratings, and honestly that's exactly why I wanted to see it. What I will say is that it's definitely aimed towards the younger kids. It just had some things like in the sword fighting scene that were quirky and funny to kids but to the older people watching just left me thinking "really? is that necessary?" But I laughed through the whole movie and LOVED the incredible twist they put on the "mirror." I highly recommend you see it and then post what you think in comments. That's all for now. I will absolutely go see the next Snow White movie (Snow White and the Huntsmen) and compare them both, but until then don't take any apples from strangers!

Easter:-) and Grimm and Once Upon a Time (Oh my!)

HAPPY EASTER!!! I got the Brothers Grimm Fairytale collection! What did you get? Post in the comments :-)
I am almost at 800 pg viewers so thanks for all people viewing. Please comment, subscribe, and tell you friends :-)))

Going back to the Brothers Grimm I'm  going to do something i have never done before! Review a T.V show :-) First there is a show on NBC called Grimm. It is gory and creepy and pretty much the last thing in the world you'd expect me to watch. This being said, I absolutely love it! It's about Nick. When his aunt dies she tells him that he has to hunt down fairy tale creature. But these aren't any normal fairy tales! He i the only one who can stop them because he is from a long line of what "Grimms". Grimm are people who, like Nick, hunt down these evil creatures. It's on Friday at 9/8c. It's an awesome show, but another one I love is called Once Upon a Time at ABC. It's about a girl named Emma, and one day her son (who she gave up for adoption) comes her door. She decides to move near him to a place called StoryBrook (which isn't conspicous at all). But Henry (Emma's son) has some add theroies about the people of Storybrook. He thinks there are all charecters in his story book, but are trapped in this town by the evil witch! I looooovvvvveeee this show and waiting until Sunday at 8/7c is very hard to do! I know I get a lot of viewers from different countries, but I'm not sure if these shows air in places other than the US. But if you click the LInks below you can watch full episodes online and some extra stuff too.

The Name of the Star & Jack the Ripper

From Hell,
I have recently read the The Name of the Star (T.N.O.T.S) by Maureen Johnson. This book was incredible!!! Basically a girl named Rory moves to a boarding school in England. But the first day she get's there a copy cat Jack the Ripper begins murdering people in almost exactly the same way as the 1888 Jack the Ripper. So she goes to her boarding school and every thing is okay (well as okay as it can be during a "New and Improved Ripper-mania" with a serial killer on the loose.) until 9/30; the night of the 3rd and 4th murder. Rory and her roommate sneak out to see if the can catch a glimpse of the terror. When returning to their dorm Rory sees something; and even though her roommate was right there only Rory saw it. To find out how this is possible you'll have to read the book! Everyone knows how I am obsessed with PERCY JACKSON. Well if you asked what my favorite book is, I would say it's a tie between P.J & T.N.O.T.S!! Which for me is HUGE. My favorite part would probably be the suspense.
INFORMATION
Jack the Ripper (for those of you who don't know) was pretty much one of the first serial killers. Back in 1888 it was hard for people to understand someone killing just to kill. But the worst part is that he got away. Modern day Ripperologists (I know what your thinking but "Ripperology" is a real thing) say they know who it is, and it is VERY possible they do! But they will never know for sure because all witnesses and evidence are long dead. Wait...it gets better! Some people believe that the reason he stopped was that he actually didn't! He simple decided to let AMERICA in on the fun. In New York, 1891, a string brutal murders done in a similar manner as the Rippermania victims were killed began. A message to the chief was written on the wall that said "Okay catch me boss" which could have been linked to the "Dear Boss" letters believed to be sent by Jack the Ripper! 11 days passed after the first NY murder and by then they had 3 more victims but no killer. Since this is supposed to be a review of a book I'm going to stop my self there, but for more info click on the link above!

So anyways, the story takes place in modern day England and what people are scared of, besides the whole serial killer on the loose thing, is that they don't know if this new Saucy Jack will continue after 11/9 and if he does will the police ever be able to stop him. The one thing I have to say about this book was the alcohol. Its not that the main characters got drunk or anything, I just felt like they brought it up too much. I would recommend this book to only people 8th grade and up because it is about a serial killer. This book wasn't extremely creepy or gory but it did have it's moments. I was left gaping at the end until I learned (thankfully) that there WILL BE A SECOND BOOK!! This is the first book in the Shades of London series which was very nice so I will post more information on this if you only wate a whil longer. To conclude this very long post, this book was fantastically creepy and took a paranormal twist to a classic killing. What do you guys think happened to J.T.R? Post in the comment section of your theories!
